This book has a concept similar to Pat the Bunny that I reviewed a while back, except that the activities are mentioned for slightly older toddlers. As a guide, I think Pat the Cat can be fun for ages 14 months old and up, while Pat the Bunny can be enjoyed by babies as early as 8 months old.
At the beginning, the young readers are introduced to two children. The following pages are dedicated to various activities, including pretending to write with a pencil cutout, removing money from the cash machine, and putting the money into daddy’s wallet. There is also a page with a scratch and sniff ginger biscuit!
The only issue I had with this book was that the squeaky bear on the last page was too hard for a young toddler to press down on, but otherwise, this book is a much loved addition to our bookshelf.
